Why did we open Frankie & Theo's?

First of all, it should be understood that while Frankie & Theo's often uses the term "we" to refer to the business, it is more accurately an "I" operation.  There is only one person behind the store!

My name is Ashley, I'm a thirty-something healthcare worker living in California--and I love animals!  That's it, really.  I started Frankie & Theo's because I really wanted to do something with my time that means something.  While my work in healthcare is fulfilling and meaningful to me, my time at home often isn't.  

So, I decided one day to open a store--and not just a store, a store that can help me give back in ways that I am often unable to.  Most of us are living paycheck to paycheck, and that doesn't leave a lot of room for charitable donations.  I figured, what better way to be able to do a little bit of good than to sell some products that I personally love and use some of that revenue to fund causes that I stand behind?
